Watch our webinar about ‘digital data exchange on projects’ on YouTube

On Friday February 24, Herman Winkels (BIM consultant TenneT) and Jakko Heinen gave a webinar about digital data exchange between TenneT and Qirion. The use of an OTL, Information Delivery Specification, open standards such as Linked Data and IFC and a data control portal are the important topics.

The webinar can be viewed below. If you have any questions, want to know more about this project or how this ‘digital way of working’ is able to support your projects? Please contact Jakko Heinen.

Data driven Facility Management as core value in 2022

Are you drowning in data to optimize the maintenance of your buildings? Curious about how BIM can help you structure your Asset information? Interested in the BIM visualization of the state of your physical asset?

Data-driven Facility Management is one of the core themes for 2022. This is endorsed by FMN – Facility Management Netherlands. BIM-Connected does a lot in this area. We are convinced that the BIM philosophy provides added value for Facility Management.

On a technological level, we work on cases in which a BIM-model is linked to a Facility Management system. This improves the representation (or digital twin), by combining the asset data from earlier life phases with new information.

Our easily applicable and light-weight tool BIM-Bridge bridges the gap between the BIM-model and the Facility Management system. Data can easily be added bi-directionally, creating valuable information for analyses, controls and decisions.

Would you like to know more about how BIM-Connected optimizes your facility management processes? Follow our publications, webinars or contact us for a good conversation or demo!

Demo BIM-Bridge – Briefbuilder connection | Comparing IFC models with requirements

Together with Briefbuilder we set up a demo about comparing IFC models with requirements by using BIM-Bridge and Briefbuilder.

Our platform BIM-Bridge has a dedicated module for BriefBuilder data. This module can be used to compare and verify data concerning spaces:

  • Quantities of spaces
  • Sizes of spaces
  • The placement of fittings, fixtures and furniture in spaces
  • Other kinds of spatial properties (e.g. minimum floor-to-ceiling heights or security zoning)

Module BIM-Bridge platform beschikbaar in combinatie met BriefBuilder software

BriefBuilder is a web-based tool for requirements management in construction projects. The combined strengths of BIM-Bridge and BriefBuilder make project teams capable to easily and quickly compare and verify data out of BriefBuilder against a BIM-model in IFC.

Take spaces as an example. Using BIM-Bridge, the user is able to compare and verify, among other things, the size of rooms, the minimum height from floor to ceiling and / or the safety zoning. There are more options. This depends entirely on the type of information in the BruifBuilder model and IFC model.

Interested (in a demo) or want to know more about the opportunities? Let us know and feel free to contact us.

See here the BriefBuilder website and their article about BIM-Bridge in combination with BriefBuilder software.

BIM-Bridge’s functionality is elegantly simple: you load an BIM model (in IFC format), and also a BriefBuilder model (in JSON format), and then you’ll get an Excel overview that shows all the matches and clashes.
